OWN YOUR HERITAGE.

HERITAGE ISN’T JUST HISTORY - IT’S STORIES WAITING TO BE RETOLD, REMIXED AND REIMAGINED BY THE NEXT GENERATION - YOU!

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Own Your Heritage: Landmarks & Legends is a youth-led programme exploring Grimsby and North East Lincolnshire’s rich heritage through creativity, storytelling and collaboration. From iconic landmarks to local legends, the project invites children and young people to uncover the stories that shape their place – and reimagine them through performance, digital design, illustration, music, theatre, film and more.

Children and young people aged 0–19 are at the heart of the project. A youth steering group helps shape the programme, working alongside professional artists, facilitators and heritage experts to bring their ideas to life.

The project has been co-created by Unseen Arts C.I.C. and The Culture House commissioned and funded by North East Lincolnshire Council, Arts Council England, The National Lottery Heritage Fund and the UK Government.
